  • Make a Fez Hat for the Letter “F”In the story, Pete eats a fez for the letter “F”. Create your own fez by decorating a cup with paint and/or crayons and then adding a tassel to the top.
  • Make a Kazoo for the Letter “K”: In the story, for the letter “K”, Pete ate a key that opened a box that contained a kazoo. Create and decorate your own kazoo with the materials provided.
  • Accordion Dog: In the story, Pete eats an accordion. For the letter A, create a silly accordion dog.
  • Paper Bag Pete: To create the dog, cut and paste the dog body parts to the paper bag. Then use the bag to play the Edible vs. Inedible game.
  • Edible vs. Inedible: Explore a dog's digestive system and discuss the difference between edible and inedible. Afterwards, players select cards and decide whether the item is edible or inedible. Only edible objects can be fed to the dog. The player to collect the least number of inedible cards wins the game.
  • What Pete Ate from A-Z Board Game: Players take turns moving their dogs along the path. When a player lands on a space, he or she can collect a corresponding letter tile. The player to collect the most letters or points wins the game.
  • What Pete Ate Next: What do you think Pete will eat next? Use your imagination! Draw the object in Pete's mouth and then fold the paper to create a pop-up.
  • Letter and Number Match: Select a letter or number sheet. Then cover the spaces with matching stickers.
  • What Pete Ate - Literacy Game:  Players take turns selecting letter tiles and looking for objects on their board that begin with that letter. If an object on their board starts with that letter, it is covered by the tile. The first player to cover all the pictures on his or her board wins the game.
